We made it to Tallahassee a few days ago. We got stuck for a day or so in a place called “White House” (it may be all one word), and then in Glen St. Mary. We were not having a very good time in northern FL. However, then our luck changed and we got past Lake City on highway 90 and then got a ride all the way to Tallahassee from a guy in the Air force. He was super nice and bought us army surplus rain ponchos!
He also told us about a cafe in Tallahassee called the Atomic Cafe that he use to go to when his girl friend went to school here. It seems like a pretty nice cafe. Lots of college students. They have free wifi with no password, free bathrooms, and lots of power outlets. However, I will say that their coffee is super expensive. Close to 3$ for a 12oz cup of brewed coffee!
Tallahassee is pretty nice. We went to a meeting for the Dream Defenders at FSU (Florida State University). The group is pretty cool. Check out their website for more info. There are several other groups around here as well. Students for a Democratic Society (SDS), Freedom Road, Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL), and more.
