Yesterday we were in Middletown Ca. at a cafe called Mugshots. It is a nice little cafe with 16zo coffee for 2$. No WiFi, which I guess is ok because they don’t allow laptops either! The lady working said they had too many people taking up space. It would seem that people don’t understand what a cafe is. There is, however, a computer there that you can use for 15 minutes at a time for 1$. There is no bathroom. They are open daily from 6am to 6pm.
Middletown seems like a nice little town though. It is named so because it is halfway between two other towns. Clearlake and Calistoga. Lots of stagecoach robberies.
It was also interesting that in the cafe they had flyers for a community meeting to stop a proposed ban on cannabis along with Norml and some other groups the United Food and commercial Workers (UFCW) was going to be there.
We had spent the night in Clearlake and that morning we dropped off some stuff at a thrift store. The lady there told us about a place that had just opened. A homeless shelter behind a place called Foods. It is open from 7pm to 7am, you don’t need anyting to get in and they allow pets! There is also a place in Clearlake – not sure where – that is open from 7am to 7pm, they have computers and it is like a day shelter.
